Meet the Pros » Canada-British ColumbiaJaron Janas
A native of Northwestern British Columbia, Jaron Janas has dedicated his life to mastering more than thirty rivers, streams and lakes situated on three watersheds in Canada's most western province. An avid outdoorsman with a profound appreciation and respect for nature, Janas believes in managing Canada's resources and has owned and operated Terrace Sport Fishing Adventures for more than 14 years and has been featured in BC Outdoors and the Prince Rupert Daily News. Nestled in pristine wilderness, Janas' business is centered around BC's most productive salmon and steelhead fisheries and also focuses on the salt during peak season. When targeting steelies or any of all five salmon species, he’ll guide on the Skeena, Kitimat, Nass, Cranberry, Kiteen and Meziadin rivers and their tributaries and often experience double digit days. Meanwhile, Terrace Sport Fishing isn't restricted to freshwater. Calling Prince Rupert and Kitimat (the Douglas Channel) home, Janas heads into the salt to battle salmon, halibut, lingcod, rockfish and Dungeness crab in the Chatham Sound, Hecate Strait and other productive areas. His saltwater season persists from May through September. In recent years, Terrace Sport Fishing Adventures has evolved into a multifaceted company, adding eco-tours to their evolving list of adventures. Framed with the beauty of countless cascading waterfalls, moss covered forests, snowy peaks and breathtaking backdrops, the region is one of the most scenic on the planet and a haven for photographers and thrill seeks. Soaking up the rich history of the First Nations culture, totem poles, the K'san cultural center or perhaps spotting a majestic bull moose, wolves, grizzly, black bear or the famed white Kermode (sprit bear), which can be seen no where else on earth, adventure lives here – and we can take you to it.
