Ted Kessler

Captain Ted Kessler is the owner of Rivermaster Fishing Charters. A veteran captain on the Niagara River and Lake Erie, Kessler has spent the last 20 years guiding these world class fisheries. Kessler was born and raised in Grand Island NY, a large freshwater island on the Upper Niagara River.

In the summer months Kessler focuses on walleye and smallmouth bass on the Upper Niagara River and Lake Erie. Utilizing top quality equipment and electronics to put his clients on consistent catches of fish, Kessler’s crowd has the chance at trophy fish on a daily basis. Kessler also fishes several tournaments each season and took the coveted Grand Champion Captain award in the Bass Eye Celebrity Challange Tournament in 2005. His combined bass and walleye catch pushed him to first place in a forty plus boat field.

In the fall and winter Kessler migrates to the Lower Niagara River in search of Chinook salmon, steelhead, brown trout and lake trout. Kessler practices hands on drift fishing to entice consistent catches and constantly stays on top of changing weather, water conditions and bait presentations to assure his clients have the best opportunities.

Along with being a veteran captian, Kessler is also an accomplished waterfowl hunter. He’s spent the last ten waterfowl seasons guiding clients to amazing sea duck and diver duck hunting on Lake Erie and Lake Ontario.
